Hello there and welcome!

My name is Vivian Chan. I am a student in the Master of Science in the Geographic Information Science program at the University of Utah. I grew up in the city of Hong Kong and moved to Utah 10 years ago.

Growing up, I loved looking at beautiful maps and finding different locations and places on different maps. For my undergraduate degree, I did Geographic Information Systems, Urban Ecology, and Sociology at the University of Utah. I also did an internship with the Wild Utah Project for my senior year. After I finished my undergraduate degree, I worked for the Wild Utah Project and the Division of Wildlife Resources.

With two years of work experience, I applied for the MSGIS program at the University of Utah. In this program, I accelerated my skills in spatial analysis, scripting, web mapping, database management, and project management. I truly did enjoy my experience in the program.
